Diploma in Counselling
Hello, I’m Les from Cairns.
I’m an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) at Resilience Enterprises.
As an AHA, my role is to support the Behavioural Support Practitioners with data collation, information gathering and initial preparation of Support Plans. I provide guidance & training to Support Workers in their role working with participants. I also conduct home visits to meet with participants and their support team
My greatest source of enjoyment at work is visiting our participants and observing their gradual change and growth.
I’m passionate about learning the myriads of ways behavioural support can influence a participant dealing with complex challenges.
The best part about my job is people contact. I live by a quote which says:
“Everyone, everywhere, wants to know who they are and what they do matters. EVERYBODY MATTERS.”
My colleagues would describe me as reliable and goofy.
The most memorable moment of my career so far was having a participant share a particular item of importance with me to keep safe while I was visiting & packing several pillows on and around me to make me comfortable.
I’m motivated by the opportunity to encourage people and witnessing positive change and growth through life’s challenges.
