Allied health assistants perform a specialist role in the behaviour support space. This is in addition to the work completed by a behaviour support practitioner. Allied health assistants come from a range of backgrounds. These can include administration and/or disability support, and sometimes these assistants can come from other backgrounds also (e.g education, front line responders, healthcare and students completing aligned learning). Allied health assistants work adjacent to practitioners and receive training to perform specific tasks under supervision of clinicians.
