Hi, I’m Gary. I was born and raised on the South Island of New Zealand; spent a few years in Hong Kong in the early 2000s and have been living in the Cairns region since 2007.

I’m a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Resilience Enterprises.

I work with people who sometimes behave in ways that put themselves and others at risk, to help everyone stay safe, to understand why they do the things they do, and to figure out how they can do things differently.

One of the greatest sources of enjoyment at work is making connections with so many different people and doing what I can to make their lives even just a little bit better.

The best part about my job is working with such an amazing and inspiring bunch of people.

If asked how my work colleagues would describe me, I don’t want to put words in anyone’s mouth, but I have had people describe me as kind and funny.

There have been many memorable moments in my time with Resilience. Each day seems to bring a new challenge and the excitement and satisfaction that go along with it. I’m hoping for many more such moments to come.

My hobbies include being a semi-professional musician, hiking and camping with my wife, playing with my two dogs and mucking about in the shed.

I am a problem solver by nature. I’m always motivated to tinker, tweak, fix, and improve things. I’m also motivated by curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
