Hello, I’m Max, I am the Founder and Clinical Director of Resilience Enterprises.
I am the clinical director of the service. I am the lead practitioner and as such I support all other team members in their development and case work. I develop and implement training tools and maintain a small case load.
Since becoming a social worker in 2004, I’ve expanded my expertise through qualifications as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and an Accredited Trainer and Assessor.
My career has afforded me the opportunity to work across a diverse range of systems and organisations, including medical, NGO, government, and law enforcement sectors. This broad experience has supported my belief in the value of a trauma-informed approach for organisational training, growth, and development.
My core interests lie in human resilience, identity, and intersectionality. I am passionate about fostering environments where individuals and organisations can thrive by understanding and embracing these concepts. I’m enthusiastic about training and seeing people come away from complicated starts into life pathways that make more sense for them.
One of my greatest sources of enjoyment at work is seeing outcomes change for the people we work alongside and seeing their quality of life improve. I also enjoy building and implementing new training that builds capacity in workforces across the region. I am deeply committed to the idea that everyone deserves a joyful life and has the inherent ability to learn and grow within their own context. I believe in the transformative power of community, self-determination, and the fundamental potential within each of us. The best parts about my job are the change, creativity and variety. Meeting the many varied people. I continue to have memorable moments every day in my career.
In my advocacy life, I have been honoured with awards for my efforts in LGBTI-related advocacy. I continue to be a vocal advocate, contributing from an intersectional approach as a peer, consumer, and allied health professional.
My colleagues would describe me as one of a kind and I have good shoe mojo (and possibly that I like glitter). In my spare time I am a mad keen Latin dancer and clothes designer.
I’m motivated by seeing things get better for people in a life that, let’s face it, can be challenging at times.
